Friday Night Ohio - Friday Night Ohio: 2017 Week 2 preview: Lake at Dover

Lake Blue Streaks at Dover Tornadoes

WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday.
WHERE: Crater Stadium, Dover
RECORDS: Lake is 1-0 overall, Dover is 1-0 overall.
LAST WEEK: Lake 41 / Northwest 13, Dover 45 / Cleveland JFK 0.

THE MATCHUP: Cameron Martin ran for 150 yards and three TDs and the Blue Streaks scored the first 21 points of of the second half to put away Northwest last week. RB Noah Collins added 64 yards rushing and QB Paul Troyer was 4 of 10 for 30 yards in his first start. Dylan Reeves led Lake's defense with 12 tackles, including three for loss.
"It's a typical Lake team," Dover coach Dan Ifft said. "They're well-coached, the kids play hard, they're strong — all those great adjectives, with the addition that this is probably the quickest Lake team I've seen. They have a little more speed than they have in the past."
The Tornadoes, meanwhile, overwhelmed Cleveland JFK behind the arm of junior Alec Sayre (178 yards passing, three TDs) and the legs of senior Dre Hess (66 yards receiving, two TDs and 17 yards rushing with another TD). Sayre, a Missouri baseball recruit, impressed DeGeorge. "First and foremost, he's a very good athlete," DeGeorge said. "And a lot of it (his performance) comes from the coaching aspect as well. They have a very good game plan for what they're doing, he gets the ball out quick and he has athletic receivers. His receivers are fast enough to run down the seam for the deeper stuff and he throws it right on time, so it's really hard to defend."
Lake leads the series 5-3 and has won both meetings since the teams renewed the rivalry in 2015.
